
93rd KIWANIS INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION: This year's
Kiwanis International Convention will be in Orlando, FL on Jun
26-28. Darrell Drinkall and Bob Brinkmann have already registered.
Our club only needs one more to sign up for an interclub. This
will make a great vacation for your family. Go to www.kiwanis.org
and sign up now. The cost is $175 if registered by April 25;
$200 after. If you've never been to an international convention,
this is the one to go to. Mickey and Minnie are waiting for you.
MEETINGS ON APR 3: After our regular meeting this Thursday,
Lt. Gov. Bob Brinkmann will have a Div. Council Mtg. for Div 1.
All Div. 1 club presidents, secretaries and past Lt Govs are
invited to attend. If you wish to attend, just stay after the
regular meeting and see what's happening in our division.
KIWANIS INTL FAMILY WORKDAY: The Kiwanis Int. Family Workday will be this Saturday, Apr 5. We will meet at 9:00 a.m. at the Normandy boat dock by the beach to clean up the area. Join the other 20 who are signed up to help.
FUNDRAISERS: The 3rd annual WMSR Home Show was held at the Manchester Coffee County Convention Center on Mar 28 & 29. Thanks to the 20+ members who helped in manning the food booth. We made over $400. Next, we are selling BBQ Butts. We will cook the butts on Fri April 11. Bob Brinkmann is in charge of this fundraiser. He will have final instructions at the Apr 3 meeting. The Prairie Plains Trap Shoot has been moved to Sat, June 7.
NOAH HEAD START: The next event will be on Monday, Apr 14 when we donate books and read. We already have the books for this event. The last event of the school year will be Monday, May 12 when we give summer clothes and shoes to the kids. We will have signups in April for the clothes and shoes.
LAWS OF LIFE ESSAY CONTEST: The Laws of Life Essay contest has been judged and winners are being notified this week by mail. The sequence of winners will remain unknown until they are announced at the banquet to be held in their honor on Monday, April 14 at the Manchester Cumberland Presbyterian Church on McArthur St. We hope to have around 50 or 60 at the banquet.
CHS SCHOLARSHIP: The Manchester Kiwanis Richard Clark Memorial Scholarship applications are being reviewed at this time. The winner will be announced at CHS awards day on May 4. $500 is awarded to the recipient.
