April 9, 2002 Dear «Greetings_»: We are sending you and other community minded citizens this invitation because we are certain you care about young people and others in need and want to help make a difference in their lives. The Hopkinsville Kiwanis Club is sponsoring the formation of a new Kiwanis Club in Trigg County. We, the undersigned, are long-term members of the Hopkinsville Kiwanis Club and one of us lives in Cadiz We invite you and others in your organization to become a charter member of the newTrigg County Kiwanis Club. The enclosed club fact sheet reflects information about Kiwanis including some of the Kiwanis Programs that could be established in Trigg County and Cadiz to fulfill children's as well as other community needs. Information on these and other programs listed as well as many other service projects is available from Kiwanis International at no charge. As a member of Kiwanis, you will join over 290,000 Kiwanians in more than 80 nations dedicated to serving children and others in need. Our theme is Serving the Children of the World, starting with our own communities. Our long-term worldwide project is Young Children: Priority One addressing the needs of young children from prenatal through age 5. Kiwanis is also making a difference for young people through the Kiwanis Family Sponsored Youth Program. Some 300,000 young people are working in concert with the over 9,000 Kiwanis clubs through K-Kids in elementary school, Builders Club in middle school, Key Club in high school, and Circle K in colleges and universities. This Kiwanis Family makes up the world's largest organization for youth. Once the new Kiwanis Club is organized, a service project could be initiated through the school system to organize one or more of these Sponsored Youth Programs. Kiwanis is designed for individuals desiring personal involvement in the leadership and improvement of their communities. We hope you will want to join us because the Kiwanis focus on youth is also a top priority for you. Of course, the club can meet other top priority community needs. A win-win situation for everyone involved. Please look over the enclosed information and consider joining the club. Kiwanis volunteers will visit you next week or the following week to meet you, answer your questions, and provide you a membership application. Please consider completing the application at that time and call us if you have any questions. The club should be organized in May.
