Past Lt.-Gov. Ivan Worrell brought his Cooker to cook the Pork Tenderloin for the Joint Picnic of the four Kiwanis Clubs of Monroe County - Madisonville - Sweetwater - Tellico Plains and Vonore. There were about sixty there to enjoy the food and fellowship. The picnic was held from 6 to 8 p.m. on June 9th.at the Fort Loudoun State Historic Area picnic shelter. Sweetwater and Madisonville Kiwanis Clubs were the co-hosts to be joined by members of the Tellico Plains and Vonore Kiwanis Clubs. The Monroe County Historical Society also meeting there late in the afternoon and were invited to bring a covered disk and join the Kiwanian picnic.
