New Builders Club Division 1E has a new Builders Club. The Coffee County Middle School Builders Club was officially chartered on March 10. The club had its charter recognition day on May 7. Manchester Club President Mark Williams presided at the event. Lt. Gov. Darrell Drinkall officially presented the charter to Builders Club President Wesley Sullivan. School club advisors Eva Thomas and Judy Northcutt presented each Builders Club member with their pin and membership card. Bob Brinkmann presented the Builders Club banner to the school. Kiwanian Bobby Cummins, Director of Coffee County Schools, spoke of the importance of sponsored youth clubs in schools. The new Club joins East Middle School in Tullahoma, West Middle School in Tullahoma, and Centertown Middle School in Warren County as Builders Clubs in our Division. Thanks to all of our clubs that sponsor these clubs. Keep up the good work.

Division Council Meeting The Division Council met on April 17, 2003 with the Murfreesboro Club. The purpose of this meeting was to elect the Lt. Gov. Select for 2004-2005. With past Lt. Gov Ron Martin presiding, the Division Council elected Bob Brinkmann from the Manchester club as our Lt. Gov. Select for 2004-2005. The Stones River/Oaklands club will be in line for the Lt. Gov. for 2005-2006. Each club is expected to start preparing an individual for this prestigious honor now. The Division needs strong leadership as the Lt. Gov. is our link to the K-T District.

Kiwanis International Convention The tutoring program with Hickerson Elementary School by the Tullahoma Kiwanis Club has been chosen as one of two service projects in the K-T District to be on display at the International Convention for other clubs to see. The Tullahoma club has members to tutor students each morning and afternoon. This requires quite a commitment by the club. Over 16 members and the Lt. Gov. spend time each week helping the kids with their homework. This is quite an honor to be selected as a project for all Kiwanians to see and hear about. If you are at the convention, drop by the service booth on Monday from 12:00 to 4:00 and hear the complete service story. Don Bond is the project chairman.

Books for Children If your club has committed to send books to the Kiwanis International Convention, please let me know how they are going to be delivered. If you have a member going and they can deliver, great. If I need to deliver, then that is fine too. We just need to know who is going to deliver the books. Also, if you have someone driving to convention, and they can carry some books, please advise. I have been told that one club has between 300 to 400 books that need delivering. This is a great start, but we may need more help in delivering all books. THIS IS A GREAT PROJECT!!
