Ky-Tn Foundation Activities
A variety of activities supported the Kentucky-Tennessee
District of Kiwanis International Foundation. The largest fundraiser
was the sale of the K-T quilt, a concept developed by K-T First
Lady Michelle Garman. (left photo), to Betty and Jim Stevens
from the Kiwanis Club of Erwin, TNfor $2,600. Betty is the current
Lt. Gov. of Division 7. This one-of-a-kind quilt featured squares
produced by each of the divisions in the Kentucky-Tennessee District.
Thanks to Jim and Betty Stevens for their generous support
of the K-T Foundation.

Don Ritter (left photo) became a Ted Osborn
Fellow through his generous contribution of $1,000 to the
K-T Foundation
Jim Mann (right photo), from the Kiwanis Club
of Clarksville, TN, became a Bo Shafer Fellow with his
$1,000 support the K-T foundation.
Dr. Glen Kleine, the K-T District Webmaster
and a member of the Kiwanis Club of Richmond, KY, also became
a Bo Shafer Fellow as a result of his wife Joan's surprise
$1,000 contribution to the K-T foundation. Presenting the fellow
awards were K-T Foundation President David Olinger and
Past K-T Governor C.D. Reese.
The Kentucky-Tennessee District annual golf scramble
raised about $5,000 for the K-T Foundation.
Charles Ridenour(left photo), past K-T governor,
served as an excellent auctioneer for the many live auction items.
He had particular fun in selling and again reselling a hand-crafted
golf lamp - to raise double the money for the K-T foundation.
Even the losing bidders (right photo) seemed to enjoy the event.
Shoppers enjoyed the variety of items available from
the K-T Foundation Store. The profit from the sales go to the
K-T Foundation.
Also on display in the foundation store were a variety
of items donated by individuals and clubs available during the
silent auction, The proceeds from the silent auction went go to
the K-T Foundation.
During the final banquet raffle tickets were sold with
the proceeds going to the K-T Foundation.
During the convention two reports were made that were
of particular interest regarding foundation activities. Lloyd
Biggs (left photo), secretary-treasurer of the Kentucky-Tennessee
District Foundation, gave a detailed report of the expenditures
and the financial stability of the K-T foundation. Ed Callis,
former K-T Governor and soon to be the Chairman of the Kiwanis
International Foundation, gave an overview of the many activities
of the Kiwanis International Foundation.
