Past K-T Governors
Hold Reunion in Central Kentucky
Central Kentucky was a great place to gather for past
K-T governors in early April.
On Friday, April 16, the governors had a dinner at
Arlington Country Club in Richmond, KY Here Dr. Ken Clawson,
a K-T Governor 2000-2001, introduces Eastern Kentucky University
President Joanne Glasser, who welcomed the governors to
EKU.
On Saturday, April 17, the governors, and some additional
Kiwanians from the immediate area, visited the Keenland Race Course
in Lexington, KY. Shown here, (l. to r. are) A.E. "Gene"
Resler, KT Governor 1985-86; Jo Ann Sircy, KT Governor
2000-2001; Connie Horne; and Terrell E. Horne, Sr.;
KT Governor 1998-99.
The Kiwanians were appropriately seated near the K
iwanis section.
Alex A. "Bo" Shafer, KT Governor 1988-89
and Kiwanis International President 2000-2001 and Asa O. Bishop,
Jr.; KT Governor 2001-2002 visit during the races.

KT Governor 1996-97 enjoy their day at the races.

Herman M. Bowers, KT Governor 1995-96, and wife Shirley
Bowers, enjoyed visiting with the other former governors and
seeing the sights of Keenland.
John W. Gorrell, KT Governor 1989-90, shares
his knowledge of horses with Ed Callis, KT Governor 1992-93
and Ed's wife Brenda Callis.
Some of the others in attendance were Roger and
Carolyn Blair. Carolyn is the Administrative Secretary of
the K-T District.
Bobby Clawson, wife of past Gov. Ken Clawson,
sports a Kiwanis hat while taking an ice cream break at Keenland
Betty and David Olinger study the race when
they joined the group at Keenland. Betty is the president of the
Kiwanis club of Berea, KY and David is the chairperson of the
K-T District Young Children: Priority One Committee. Betty broke
into a smile when her daughter Josylyn Olinger joined them
at the races. Josyln, a law school graduate from the University
of Louisville, is serving as a legal clerk for Kentucky Chief
Justice Joseph E. Lambert
Why is Ken Clawson the only person smiling in
this photo finish? John W. Gorrell, and wife Jenny Gorrell
were clearly not happy with this finish.
Keenland provided an excellent opportunity for Dr.
Glen Kleine, K-T webmaster and Lt. Governor of Division 9
to take photos of the event.
