
C.D. Reese, the new governor of the K-T District will visit Division 9 on November 15. Tentatively scheduled to meet at Halls on the River. A Division 9 Council Meeting will be held at that time and the Lt. Gov. for 2005-2006 will be elected at that time. Block out November 15 to attend this Division-wide event.
Beattyville, KY - Appreciation dinner for held for the Lee County Fiscal Court in assisting with development of Kiwanis Park, Conducted the County Fair, Organized and conducted the Homecoming Parade & Fair ($800); Conducted a Talent Show, Supported the band boosters fundraiser, Made a scholarship payment ($1,000); . Involved young children in Homecoming parade - the theme was "The Youth of today is our Future Tomorrow" ($100). Kiwanis Park amphitheatre is finished; Attended US Representative Hal Rogers PRIDE meeting which was held at the Kiwanis Park amphitheatre; continued development of other Kiwanis Park projects (overlook). Fleming County, KY - Bingo at Pioneer Trace Nursing Home ($90); Purchased baby beef and lambs at FFA and 4H show and sale ($670), Donated $500 to the Glen McVey Cancer Fund. Purchased clothing for Head Start and other school children. ($350).
Irvine-Ravenna, KY - Contribution made to the City of Ravenna for their annual picnic for the Revenna, Irvine and Estill County volunteers firemen, fire fighters, rescue squad and members of their families ($100); Contributions made to a missionary group with whom Rob Hodde, club member, works in Central America providing various needs for needy children. Two spoke briefly to the club. ($150); Devotional on Labor day concerning our work ethic and value system. Three members read to four pre-school classes in two elementary schools. Purchase of brick to be placed in a prominent location in the New Annex to the Marcum and Wallace Memorial Hospital giving name of club and date organized ($100); Nine club members collected parking fees and donations during a three-day tournament held at the Kiwanis Little League Ballpark and donated it to the Little League program ($4,000 raised); Devotional service, Contributions (equally divided, given to four groups of school teachers to purchase supplemental classroom supplies for their classes of young children. Jackson County, KY - Conducted a mowing and clean up day at the Kiwanis park, Helped with Farmer's Market selling fresh vegetables at the park on Fridays ($200); Sponsored co-ed solftball team every friday night at Kiwanis Park and also worked in the concessions to benefit the sixth grade students ($50); Sponsored a page in the local newspaper to attend the church of your choice.
