Division News - Two clubs in our division won service awards at the Mid-Year Conference. Franklin County won the Multiple Service award for the Emerald Group and Tullahoma won the Multiple Service award for the Ruby Group. These awards are for the 2002-2003 administrative year. Both clubs are to be commended for their service in their communities. The awarding of Distinguished Clubs for 2002-2003 was delayed due to the District getting information late from Kiwanis International. They will be announced at District Convention in August.

Mid-Year Conference - The K-T District Kiwanis Mid-Year Conference was held March 5-7, 2004 at the Four Points Sheraton in Lexington, KY. We had representatives from the Manchester and Tullahoma clubs. I took the CLE Trainer's course and am now a Certified Trainer. I will be doing the CLE training for our division on Saturday, July 10, 2004. All new Presidents and Secretaries for 2004-2005 should attend. News at the convention: The Board of Directors voted to rename Div 1E to 1, Div 1W to 19, Div 2E to 2, and Div 2W to 18 effective Oct 1; ratified Clarksville for the 2004 District Convention and set early bird registration at $100 (regular at $120); named Bowling Green for the 2007 District Convention (2005 is in Louisville & 2006 is in Chattanooga); confirmed the appointment of Tommy Brown as the Lt Gov of Div 15; the District Foundation announced that they have awarded 15 $500 scholarships to children and grandchildren of District Kiwanis members (names to be announced in the April K-T Notes; all Kiwanians are asked to turn in recipes for a District Cookbook to Lloyd Biggs (check the District web site for more details).

89TH Annual Kiwanis International Convention - It's not too late to make your plans to attend the 89th Kiwanis International Convention in St. Louis on June 26-29, 2004. St. Louis is close enough to drive. So now is the time to start getting your car pool together. And you don't want to miss Willie Nelson performing on Sunday night. Next year the convention will be in Hawaii. So be thinking about taking that dream vacation then.
