
CLUB PROJECTS Following are some of the club projects that were reported in the June club reports:
Franklin County donated $405 to send 9 kids to Summer Camp Paradise; donated to send youth to Outstanding Youth Leadership Program; donated 6 bikes to Child Services; held free Gospel Concert by the lake for the community; donated $1500 in playground equipment for Oak Grove Headstart.
Highland Rim no report a/o 7/12.
Manchester collected alum cans for Habitat; donated $40 and worked at Good Samaritan; donated $250 to We Care; collected for IDD; purchased Hixson for member; attended KI convention in St Louis.
Murfreesboro helped fund Youth Camp scholarship ($50) to MTSU; donated $200 to Murfreesboro Youth Orchestra; donated $200 to Kiwanis International Foundation.
Stones River/Oaklands played bingo at VA; donated to Blackman Key Club; donated $2000 to Special Kids.
Tullahoma donated $25 to Christian Children's Fund; donated $250 to Habitat for Humanity; donated $20 to St. Jude Children's Hospital; flew flags Flag Day; donated $500 to Area 13 Special Olympics; attended KI convention in St Louis.
Warren County placed ad in newspaper celebrating 20 years of service in community; county executive proclaimed Kiwanis week; took Key Club officers to meet Key Club Lt. Gov.
White County no report a/o 7/12.
District Convention The K-T District Convention will be August 13-15 in Clarksville. Be sure to register by July 13th to get the early bird rates. Registration is $100. This promises to be a very good convention. There will also be a rodeo on opening night. This is a project of the Clarksville club and all convention attendees are invited to be their guests. Book your reservation at either the Riverview Inn or the Country Inn & Suites. Most of the convention will be taking place at the Morgan Center on the campus of Austin Peay State University. See you there.
Key Club News Dena Ashworth, Key Club Lt. Gov for
Div 1, spoke at the Tullahoma Kiwanis Club on June 22. Four clubs
brought Key Club officers for the coming year to hear and meet
her. Thanks to each club for their participation.
Distinguished Clubs The year is roughly three fourths
of the way done. How does your club stand in making a goal of
being distinguished for the year? It 's not too late. Be sure
that your attendance goals are being met, that your service projects
are being done and that your training and reports are being done
on time. Make it happen.
CLE Training The Club Leadership Training for new club presidents and secretaries was held on Saturday, July 10, 2004 in Manchester. Six clubs from our division were present. Each club president and secretary is required to take this training. If you have not attended this training, you can attend on Friday, August 13, at the District Convention in Clarksville. 89TH Annual Kiwanis International Convention Highlights
from the convention: Delegates approved: 1. To merge the Constitution
and Bylaws into one document; 2. Collect annual dues once a year
beginning in Oct 2005; 3. Establish a global Kiwanis magazine
w/6 issues for N. America at cost of $8 & 3 issues for rest
of world at cost of $4 per member. Case Van Kleef was installed
as President and Steve Siemens was elected President Elect. We
had three clubs from our division with delegates. Sign up at District
Convention for next year's convention in Hawaii.
