Minutes of August 15, 2004 Meeting

The House of Delegates was called to order at 10:30 a.m. by Governor B. Wayne Sullivan.

Parliamentarian: Charles E. Ridenour; Sergeant-at-Arms: Ty Plummer; International Trustee: Pete Mihelich, Jr.

Jan Larson gave the report of the Convention Registrations. There were 324 registered Kiwanians and 48 registered partners and guests for a total of 372.

Chuck Padgett from the St. Bethlehem Club gave the report of the Credentials Committee. 86 Clubs were represented by 167 delegates with 25 delegates-at-large for a total of 192 delegates. The report was duly seconded and approved.

District Secretary/Treasurer Fran Marion reported that the District was in good standing.  The District Directories will be out by the first of October.  She thanked all the clubs for their participation this year.  Carolyn and Sharlene were recognized for their work in the district office.

Bud Lane reported that a balanced budget had been adopted by the Board of Trustees.

Resolutions Chairman Bob Keats read resolutions for the following: Pete Mihelich, C. David Elliott, and the Kiwanis Clubs of Division 12. Each resolution was duly seconded and approved.

District Secretary/Treasurer Fran Marion reported that 16 Divisions were represented at the Nominating Caucus. Mark L. Garman was nominated for Governor-elect; C. D. Reese for Governor.

Past Governor Charles Ridenour gave the nominating speech for C. D. Reese for Governor. Past Governor Eddie Callis gave a seconding speech. There being no further nominations, it was moved that C. D. Reese be elected by acclamation. Motion approved.

Past Governor Kenneth Clawson gave the nominating speech for Mark L. Garman for Governor-elect. Lt. Governor, Division 12, Bob Keats gave the seconding speech. A motion was made for nominations to cease and to elect by acclamation. Motion approved.

After presentation of the new district officers for 2004-2005, Past Governor Asa O. Bishop, Jr. installed them. The following is a list of the 2004-2005 District Officers.
