All of the Circle K Convention participants from Maryville
College, Middle Tennessee State University, Northern Kentucky
University, Transylvania University, University of Tennessee Chattanooga,
University of Tennessee Knoxville, and Vanderbilt University worked
during the morning providing service to the Chattanooga Rescue
Mission.
Some of the jobs including hanging and arranging clothes
for the 20 men and 11 women using the facility. Michelle Hatmaker,

Many donors provide clothes that had to be sorted and
folded by Circle K members from Northern Kentucky University.
One room needed to be emptied with items either going
to storage or completely removed. Nathan Gallagher and
Craig Lyons from Northern Kentucky University volunteered
for the job.

Boxes of food had to be removed from the basement and
taken to the first floor to stock the food pantry. Melissa
Walden, Circle K Lt. Gov. West Division, gives thumbs up after
a job well done. She and K-T Governor Elect Mark Garman,
removed boxes of food from the basement and then took these boxes
to the food pantry.
This mission van was filled with boxes for cards by
Circle K members.
Another major task was removing boxes of cards from
the third floor and taking them to a van for later distribution.

At the conclusion of the work project Ron, the chaplain
at the Chattanooga Rescue Mission, thanked the Circle K members
for their work and told them about the significance of the work
being done at the mission.
Following the service project James Hobbs, Kentucky-Tennessee
Circle K Governor, posed with Ellen Stallcup, Vice President
of Circle K International and Counselor to KY-TN District. Ellen,
brought James a plush armadillo on wheels from her home state
of Texas. James promptly named the armadillo Mr. Bigglesworth.
Why? No one knows. Nevertheless, Mr. Bigglesworth accompanied
James at all of the K-T Convention events and you will see additional
photos of his armadillo sidekick.
